The Grace Notes Music Foundation Receives $5,000 from the Makayla Joy Sitton Foundation
The Grace Notes Music Foundation was honored to receive a check for $5,000 from the Makayla Joy Sitton Foundation to be used for the Makayla Joy Sitton Music Scholarships. These need-based scholarships are administered by the Grace Notes Music Foundation.
The Grace Notes Music Foundation was honored to receive a check for $5,000 from the Makayla Joy Sitton Foundation to be used for the Makayla Joy Sitton Music Scholarships. These need-based scholarships are administered by the Grace Notes Music Foundation.
The Makayla Joy Sitton Music Scholarships are the cornerstone of the Grace Notes Music Foundation.
Grace Notes Music Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing exceptional music and performance opportunities for students from diverse cultural, ethnic, racial and economic backgrounds. The Foundation is also committed to sponsoring community enriching music events.
The scholarships are the genesis of the Grace Notes Music Foundation and are named for a young student named Makayla Joy Sitton. She loved piano and ballet and her middle name, “Joy,” perfectly described not only her attitude but the feeling she spread to all those who knew her. When we lost her all too soon and too suddenly, her absence was felt acutely by her family, friends, and the community. Her parents decided on the most beautiful of tributes. They wanted to establish a scholarship fund in her name to help other children pursue music studies. Within the first year, we had 6 students receiving scholarship funds. This year, we were able to increase that to 8 students. This gift from the Makayla Joy Sitton Foundation will help us increase that number next year and in the years to come.
The Makayla Joy Sitton Music Scholarship Program continues to grow. Without scholarship assistance, these budding musicians would not have had access to music lessons The Grace Notes Music Foundation is proud to continue Makayla’s legacy and love of music by providing scholarships for students to study with teachers and music studios located throughout Palm Beach County.
